"What next? I wonder with trepidation. Watch this space."

Dear Diary, where do I even begin!?

A great night last night, albeit for quite a sad reason. Yesterday at lunchtime our manager, Hayley, called a meeting and informed us she'd had to hand in her resignation effective immediately. I don't think I've ever really spoken about her much in here but Hayley is a totally cool 26 year old Aussie girl. And yesterday her working visa ran out. She can stay in the United Kingdom for another year but is not allowed to work (because thin air is really great at paying the bills). It's shit for us - she's our freaking backbone! However it must be one hundred times more shit for her. I can't possibly imagine.

So yesterday after work we had drinks at the Old Bailey then moved on to a pub near Chancery Lane. I had provisionally arranged to do something with Gaz yesterday but not organised anything specific, so he came along too and got to meet my drunk workmates (yay!) and we had a great evening, though like I said, tinged with sadness. Hayley may get a reprieve and be allowed to work if our mega bosses can convince the Home Office that her job is not merely 'admin' (they should try running the fucking Old Bailey and see how far they get. Answer: NOT VERY AT ALL.) Time will tell but we're keeping our fingers crossed.

Ended up back at Gaz's last night as he lives in north London and I doubt I was in the best state to get myself home in one piece on my own. This morning we just lazed in bed watching Casino Royale. God, I have missed that... (Not Casino Royale, the lazing in bed not by oneself, I mean.) Obviously it's still very early days but we seem to make each other tick.

Next weekend Katie, Dave and I were supposed to be going on a road trip up north to visit my brother in Manchester. These plans have now well and truly been abandoned as Dave can no longer make it and there is no way I am driving 180 miles up on the Saturday and 180 miles back on the Sunday when I am moving to London on the Monday.

Yep...that's right. I AM FINALLY MAKING THE MOVE DOWN TO THE CAPITAL CITY! Jenn who I work with has a housemate moving out so I'm the replacement. I get on great with Jenn so needless to say I am VERY EXCITED by this, especially since for my housewarming we're having a Halloween fancy dress party. Poundland has an entire aisle dedicated to awesome Halloween tat so I'm going to make a trip tomorrow (and probably be awarded a badge saying 'Happiest Girl Ever' by the shop staff). Fuck buying tin foil and other houseware-type stuff for moving, Halloween tat is the key.

So in summary, lovelife not too shabby and soon to be living in a leafy bit of Wandsworth with Mark Owen for a neighbour. Let the good times roll!
